A big thanks to @jjfcastrellon and his colleagues who made their data publicly available, which I found thanks to @Tincala and colleagues in their great paper in TiCS that contains a curated list of publicly available PET data

It was intriguing to see that dopamine D2/3 receptor availability has structured covariance not only across our humble sample but also in a separate dataset with a different tracer!

My two worlds collide PET imaging + networks. This has been a weekend project that started in my grad days and after several method iterations its finally done.๐

We have a new work showing how network topology changes with brain volume!! ๐ง ๐ธ๏ธ๐คspoiler: spatial embedding imposes tighter restrictions on larger brains. 1/5
How does #NeuralWiring adapt to different brain sizes? @mgpuxeddu @spornslab use #connectomics of 201 mammals with >10,000x range in brain size to show that spatial embedding constrains larger brains, giving more compact & well defined modules #PLOSBiology

So happy that @spornslab was chosen for the best mentor award. This is so well deserved! I also cold-emailed Olaf without having much of a computational background and have enjoyed working with such a kind and encouraging mentor ever since.
Warms my heart to see @spornslab recognized for his mentorship at #OHBM2023. From a cold email 4yrs ago, he took me into his lab, and it has been a blast learning about/working with networks! The time and effort that he dedicates to his students and postdocs in unparalleled.๐๐

I am so happy to see @spornslab recognized for his mentorship! ๐ The 4yrs I spent in his lab have been the most formative in my career. He took a chance on an algebraic topologist with little to no brain knowledge. I am a eternally grateful to him for who I became as researcher

Thank you so much-- this was so exciting to receive!! (and it was my first conference oral presentation ever ๐)And thank you to the organizers for such a great workshop- I had a blast!! Lots of new things to think about
Congrats to @MariaEPope1 for the Best ECR Presentation at our Workshop on Methods of Information Theory in Computational Neuroscience at CNS*2023 @CNSorg in Leipzig last week, sponsored by @Entropy_MDPI (thank you)! Maria here w organisers @PedroMediano M Wibral & @AbdullahMakkeh

I also cold-emailed Olaf to ask if I could spend a summer during my undergrad doing research with him. He took me on, and of course I decided to come back. There's no other place I could imagine working on my PhD. Olaf curates a community and invests everything in our success

This is so well deserved. Iโll never be grateful enough to @spornslab for having me as a visitor during my PhD and for holding a postdoc position for 2 (!!) years when I couldnโt move to US because of Covid. Few people can teach you so much and be so kind at the same time!!
