#Patchbirding tonight: right on cue… 2 juvenile Whinchats on one of the usual fence-lines at the Hothfield Flood Storage Reservoir this evening. #99 for #PWC2025 ✅. An increase in Swallow & House Martin numbers across the patch. 27 Canada Geese flew north + pair of Stonechats.

Back out @PatchBirding this evening… standard sightings, although c30 Linnets and 6 Swallows W over rural @Godinton were nice to see. Kingfisher, 2 Grey Herons, House Martins, Chiffchaffs with the Tit flocks, C Buzzard.

Back to the Ashford Lakes… 14 Mandarin Ducks at Eastwell Lake. At @Conningbrook LCP: drake Pochard & 5 Tufted Ducks on the main lake. 2 Green Sandpipers & 1 C Snipe on the wetland with Swallows, House Martins & Swifts overhead. 1 Kingfisher at Eco Lake. 2 Gadwalls with Mallards.

A pleasant evening with great views of the juvenile White-winged Black Tern on the Great Water at Leeds Castle. Also a mixture of wildfowl, House Martins, Grey Wagtail and Red Kite. Successful breeding season for GC & Little Grebes there too.
