RFK Jr. said his Make America Healthy Again report cites "gold-standard" science." It cites 500 studies and other sources. But it is riddled with errors. And 7 of the cited sources don’t appear to exist at all. (via @NOTUSreports)

It was a really great week for human genetics, multiomics, and precision medicine. Some interesting reads and incredible resources🧵 1⃣From a GWAS in dogs to the discovery of a new obesity target in humans! Variants in DENND1B were the strongest GWAS signal for obesity in 241

We developed the first-ever polygenic risk score (PRS) for obesity in #dogs, linking genetic risk to high appetite & showing how it interacts with environmental factors. Fascinatingly, chocolate Labradors are genetically more prone to obesity than non-chocolate Labs! 🍫🧬

By studying pet Labradors, we identified genes affecting #obesity in both dogs & humans 🧬. The lead gene, DENND1B, regulates MC4R—one of the major controllers of appetite & energy balance in the brain 🧠🍔. This helps us understand the genetic influences on weight! #OneHealth
