At yesterday’s DEFRA questions, @rach_hopkins raised the important issue of public procurement. It is in both the public and the producers’ interest that our public sector utilises our first class food and farming industry. We’re grateful to Rachel for asking this question.

This was also pushed by Shadow Minister @DrNeilHudson. We’re thankful to both for raising this. Biosecurity is an essential component of national security, safeguarding public health, the integrity of our domestic food systems, and the UK's international trade reputation. 3/5

@DannyVet was first up to ask a great question about our biosecurity. As he said, the recent National Audit Report that said the UK is at high risk, and unprepared for, an animal disease outbreak was highly concerning. 2/5
