God the layers of misinformation here... The city is putting $514m to replace stimulus funds.
Stim funds run out at the end of this year. That isn't a cut. It was built into stim funding. It is not a restoration either, as nothing was taken away. This is massive, new $$$.
If anyone gives NYC Mayor Eric Adams any credit for this—because he *will* seek it out—I’m going to lose my mind.
Basic funding for education should never be something that gets slashed from the budget, let alone something that parents have to protest to be restored.

NYC spends $38k per pupil and most kids don’t learn at grade level and 100k a year drop out. There are similar stories across the country. This should be the focus of American education policy debate not the nuances of admissions policies at elite schools.
