Appears that there will soon be an extra reason to encourage my aunties to get a shingles vaccine.
Biggest thing to ever come out of my little group. Pls help spread this finding!. We found clean, CAUSAL evidence that the shingles vaccine prevents a good chunk of dementia cases. So, could a virus cause Alzheimer’s->YES!. Hear me out & see preprint: 🧵1/

I'm not on Twitter as much these days. One reason: iNaturalist exists. It's social media that helps science & which leaves me feeling good nearly every time I visit. Not just me, either. An NYTimes writer recently asked if it's "The nicest place online?".

As someone who needed government student loans to earn a BSc (a stepping stone to a later PhD), this is good. Canada earns a better return on investment through a better economy & well paid workers when people gain education & skills; it will ultimately pay for itself.
We’re permanently eliminating interest on the federal portion of Canada Student Loans and Canada Apprentice Loans.

Perhaps it's time to reintroduce "disallowance": .
I spoke with Premier @FordNation today. I emphasized the importance of standing up for Canadians’ rights and freedoms, including workers’ rights – and I reiterated that the preemptive use of the notwithstanding clause is wrong and inappropriate.

Good. The reprise of responsible public health policy is music to my ears.
In a precedent-setting decision, Ontario court says vaccine mandate is legal and enforceable in schools. Two unvaccinated @SenecaCollege students had challenged the rule, by @jessicamundiee via @nationalpost @Limbictweets #COVID19 #vaccination #HigherEd.

It is dangerous for LAC to say that "Web pages are not historical documents". They are. @LibraryArchives captures and archives them because they *are* historical documents. But they are also *living documents* which get updated and improved upon.
Many Canadians object to seeing such outdated and imbalanced attitudes on a website of national scope. Web pages are not historical documents and should be updated when times change. This is why we took the step of removing some web pages.
