The full state pension is £185/wk so £9,620/yr. A typical ENERGY bill (not mortgage, not rent) from Oct is likely to be OVER a third of that (and many older people will have higher than typical use.

This isn't good news. John Glen has been Economic Secretary since 2018. He's one minister you don't need to do remedial explanations of complex issues before you discuss. He is on top of his financial service brief (even if we don't always agree on the right route).
