@MikeRogersForMI If you're far-right, others seem "far left" from your viewpoint. But that's an illusion. Republicans have veered closer towards totalitarianism over decades, while Democrats have stayed much closer to the center. So, in fact, *Republicans* are the extremists, not the Democrats.

@marcorubio e. The GOP had already been whining about socialism since FDR's New Deal, because it meant higher taxes for the wealthy. They never stopped. f. President Truman called them out for it. 3/

Actually, since tariffs are foreign policy, and Congress controls foreign policy, not the president, it would only be catastrophic for Mr Trump's delusions of grandeur and plans to become Dictator-for-Life.
.@POTUS: "It would be somewhat catastrophic for our country" if the Supreme Court strikes down tariffs.

If Republicans want to keep blaming Democrats for the shutdown while controlling the White House, Senate, and House, then they’ll have to admit one thing: Donald Trump can’t negotiate his way out of a paper bag. We all know it’s the GOP’s fault though.

Dear Americas allies: We don’t like Trump. Tuesday made that clear. We will expel Trumpism over the next few years and the name Trump will be similar to Benedict Arnold

Reporter: The US handles about 45,000 flights a day. A 10% reduction of that is worse than the worst cancellation day of the past year, every day until the shutdown ends. Never in modern US aviation history has the federal government done an across the board cut of flight

I hope their lawyers are preparing to defend against an "unlawful detention" lawsuit.
DC grand jury has again declined to indict a recently-arrested defendant Nathalie Jones of Indiana was arrested & accused by Justice Dept of making threat against Trump But "A grand jury has now found no probable cause to indict Ms. Jones on the charged offenses", per defense

Trump’s government is one that arrests a student for writing an op-ed, restricts the speech of the country’s visitors, and detains journalists for covering protests. That doesn’t sound like free speech in a democracy. It sounds like a dictatorship.

It's remarkable reading this thread of JD Vance's old posts how he was a completely different human being before deciding to run for the Senate. Literally night and day, unrecognizable.
Here's JD Vance's long-since-deleted Twitter thread from April 2020, where he shares his opinions on the Covid lockdowns and dismisses skeptics.

I hope their lawyers can spell "unlawful detention" and "aggravated assault".
