I must say I’m baffled by the number of people in Scotland who suggest that we must inevitably move towards a student fee and loan system similar to England’s. It’s not only a complete outlier in Europe, it also seems to be a right old mess…

So just a tax for general purposes; -that wealthier students can avoid by paying fees upfront -where striving harder means paying longer as usurious interest is higher -perpetually lowers young ppls disposable income; ability to afford a home or form families in the omnicrisis

I cannot explain how furious I am at the utter dishonesty of Rachel Reeves regarding Student Debt. Her new line of defence is that “student loan repayments will help pay more for the NHS - and get waiting lists down”. This is a terrible lie.

Not everyone can afford a smartphone. Stop making it the primary, and sometimes the only, interface for day to day services. It's like when companies move their customer facing information onto Discord. It's shit. Fucking stop it.

Rachel Reeves has just called the student loan system, 'fair & reasonable.' The truth is it's an absolute mess, an utter dog's breakfast, as the money expert Martin Lewis points out. Two of my kids in their mid-20s owe well over 100k between them; an horrific burden to carry.

Were millions of graduates mis-sold their student loans? A question many are asking as they discover that the extra 9% tax on their income doesn't even cover the interest that's added each year to their debt, with @nickhillman boss of @HEPI_News on @Moneybox noon @BBCRadio4

The student loan repayment scheme is a scam. Students are sold the expectation that once they earn over a certain amount they will then have 9% taken off their monthly income to start repaying the loan back, with the debt being wiped off after 30 years. However, what is kept

No wonder people are fed up with this Labour UK Government. They used WASPI women as a photo op during the General Election campaign and then dropped their promises to them faster than you would a piece of hot coal. Shameful👇🏻 🥀
