This is only the 2nd farm in Lewis County NY with a known tall waterhemp population. Early detection of resistant weed populations provides an opportunity to contain & minimize the spread to additional acres across the farm operation.

Overly tight tassel wrap showing up in Northern NY corn fields. Too early to determine impact on pollination.

The addition of a reduced rate of bromoxynil provided faster burndown, but will it result in overall improved weed control? This is only 6 days after the application. @cornellweedsci @LynnSosnoskie

Evaluating HPPD inhibitors tank mixed with a PSII inhibitor for enhanced POST broadleaf weed control in field corn. Can bromoxynil be an effective alternative to atrazine when used with Callisto, Laudis, Armezon, Shieldex? @CornellIPM @cornellweedsci @LynnSosnoskie @GetRidOfWeeds

We planted another seed treatment risk assessment trial. It's 1 of over 50 field sites in NY. Also it was great to work with a grower that retrofitted their grain drill with a grab bar & short broom kept on board for the 'drill rider' leveling seed while planting. @CornellIPM

Significant seedcorn maggot damage on neonic treated soybean seed in Hudson River Valley in NYS. Early planting, cool weather, followed by significant rainfall reduced efficacy of insecticide which reulted in a replant situation.

For 25 yrs as a field crops extension specialist in NNY, I saw the introduction & widespread adoption of these biocontrol nematodes on farms for the control of alfalfa snout beetle & later on learned the addition of corn rootworm control. This isn't snake oil, these really work.

High soybean aphid populations found in Northern NY today. Scouting season isn't over yet, continue to monitor soybeans for SBA through the R5 growth stage. I did not see any beneficial predators feeding on the aphids. @NYSIPM
