The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we've picked up actual sound. Here it's amplified, and mixed with other data, to hear a black hole!

Survived taking a 10 week old on the plane for their first trip to Wales ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ to meet the family. Looking forward to the final term back in Dubai ๐ฆ๐ช. Adding more and more exciting things to the department events.

Really like this idea! Students sometimes over complicate focussing on the instrumentation. These are the building blocks!
