Actually, the Title Board just rejected your progressive tax hike again. Raising taxes and fees on everyone - while taking away TABOR refunds - not only violates single-subject, but is also bad policy for the state. #copolitics #coleg

@MichaelCLFields Simply. Not. True. No one's TABOR refunds will be impacted, taxes will only go up if you make more than half a million dollars per year, and no "fees on income."

This measure would raise taxes on 100% of Coloradans through ending TABOR tax refunds and allowing for fees on everyone’s income. TABOR is more popular than ever - so the far-left is spreading misinformation. Coloradans will once again reject giving a massive blank check to

A coalition of organizations, lead by the Bell Policy Center, are bringing forth a measure that will CUT TAXES on 98% of Coloradans while making the top 2%, those who make over $500k pay their fair sure. This will raise $2-3 Billion to invest in childcare, healthcare and K-12!

Here’s some good news: “Polis said it was a no-brainer for the state to take advantage of the federal tax credit scholarship program, describing it as “a real boom of investment in kids.” “It supports donors to give more money to our schools,” he said. “I mean, I would be crazy

It's a HARD sell arguing why a TAX CUT on 98% of Coloradans while funding healthcare, childcare, and K-12 education is a bad thing. My friend Michael is backed into a corner of defending billionaires and the Epstein class. Enough is enough. Tax cuts for us, tax hikes for them.

Calling a tax a "fee" doesn't make it so, nor does it make it legal. But SB230 does it anyway — violating TABOR, Prop 117 and the single-subject rule. @AdvanceColorado has sued. Good for them. Today @DenverGazette, I explain why SB230 doesn't hold up: https://t.co/KL8nKNQTLs

@MichaelCLFields It's a fee, not a tax. Fees need a clear nexus between impact & benefit. Oil & Gas produces pollution. Transit reduces pollution. Clear nexus. Oil & Gas extraction damages our land and harms wildlife. Land conservation protects them. Clear nexus.

The income tax chart on the ballot is game changing. No amount of paid ads from you will be able to beat the progressive income tax measure in 2026. People will see with their own eyes a tax cut for themselves & an increase for the rich. There's no way they'd vote against that.

Today, we filed a lawsuit against the State of Colorado for enacting an illegal “fee” on the oil and gas industry. This is the most egregious “fee” we’ve ever seen in Colorado (SB 24-230). It’s clearly a tax - and therefore needed voter approval. After reviewing all of the

@MichaelCLFields Weird. This is exactly the same language change that was made in Initiative 271 in 2020. It qualified and this argument was never made then. "with no added taxes or surcharges" is an awfully odd sentence fragment to have hanging out in our constitution.

Bell Policy has claimed that the $3.25B revenue increase is “incidental.” And that taking away TABOR refunds and putting fees on income is “a technical drafting issue.” Hard to believe, Scott. Especially when they are still pushing this same measure through Title Board.
