The worst thing about residency is that it makes you a mediocre person as you have no time to do the things that made you brilliant enough to get the job.

It is no secret that the residency match process can be a very stressful time for medical students as competition, stress and a lack of control of the final outcome are at an all-time high

This work highlights that #disparities in #cancer outcomes are complex. Novel therapies improve survival overall, but race/ethnicity remain strong predictors — underscoring the need for #equity-focused research & care strategies.

Implications: ➡️ Asian & Hispanic patients experienced better survival with systemic therapy for HCC. ➡️ Survival differences were not fully explained by treatment patterns or clinical/social factors. ➡️ More work is needed to understand why

Background: #HCC incidence has been rising and disproportionately affects Black, Asian, and Hispanic patients. Until recently, systemic therapy options were limited (mainly sorafenib). Between 2017–2022, 9 new therapies were approved, changing the treatment landscape.
