There’s kind of an inverse “the future is already here it's just unevenly distributed” thing happening with AI where people who consume lowest-common-denominator media are deluged by AI generated content while the mainstream & especially elites are hardly seeing any of it
The top two songs on Spotify’s ‘viral 50’ chart are both AI generated. Feels like we’re close to hitting some kind of significant milestone here.

Dearest fellow pollsters, Hope you’re well, and happy autumn! I’d like to make a formal a request to no longer include Senator Bernard Sanders (I-VT) in future hypothetical 2028 Democratic presidential primary polls. I have it on good authority he won’t be running. Best, Adam

This hemp ban is crazy. Hemp-based balms are great for joint pain. Oh well.

Yes evidence of long term opioid use beyond a year is mixed if that but to also try to suggest opioids are not that good for acute MSK pain… lol these people are not doctors!

Anti opioid propaganda on main. Too busy but tempted to write a response to this…
Despite their frequent use, opioids have limited benefits in managing noncancer pain (seen in figure). For acute musculoskeletal pain, opioids have a small mean effect in reducing pain (a decrease of <10 points on a scale of 0 to 100, with 0 indicating no pain and 100 worst pain)

These are the health influencers who kill patients with their hot takes. They take a small, well-documented rise in glucose metabolism that tips a sub-set of patients already near a diabetes diagnosis into type 2 diabetes and proclaim that statins “destroy your metabolism,” while

This is the worst argument for making med school shorter. Med school should cost less but students don’t need less time to learn the basics of medicine and explore a wide range of specialties. Fourth year should be better spent than it is now, with more elective expectations.
YES. @ZekeEmanuel and others in @nytimes this morning: "Shortening medical school by a year reduces costs by 25 percent and adds a year of physician earnings to help pay off educational debts."
