⛈️ In our rapidly changing world, both physically and politically, with climate change-fuelled crises and conflicts, X-Band SAR satellites are invaluable instruments, providing high-resolution data 24/7 and in any weather condition /5

🛰 X-Band SAR satellites provide unique dataset and extremely precise measurement capabilities, creating direct socio-economic benefit for humanity that cannot be achieved in other bands /4

📶 However, since 2019, 5G industry has pushed for obtaining further allocations on the basis of a potential supplement to support e.g. AR applications. Should they succeed in entering the band w/o additional regulatory and technical constraints, SAR will be critically harmed /3

The band between 9.2 and 10.4 GHz has been allocated on a primary basis to SAR since 2015 enabling for a number of commercial companies to flourish with the promise of providing VHR data (res<25cm) and launch tens of satellites, exponentially increasing amount of SAR data /2
