I haven’t posted for a while but, separately, my fundraising amount via JustGiving is now at £3,185 (£3,785 in total) and I’ve completed 408.84km of my 500km running challenge. Thanks to everyone who has supported the charity so far through donations and sharing information 🎅🏻🎄

@wattshan @UHSFT @UHSFTresearch This requires food businesses to include full ingredients labelling on pre-packed for direct sale foods. Natasha's Law is Natasha’s legacy, providing millions of people in the UK with the vital food ingredient information they need to stay safe.

@wattshan @UHSFT @UHSFTresearch At the time, prepackaged foods made and sold on the same premises didn’t have to list their ingredients. However, today, 1st October, is Natasha's Day. It's the date Natasha's Law was implemented in 2021.

@wattshan @UHSFT @UHSFTresearch The charity was set up by the parents of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse who tragically died from anaphylaxis in 2016 at the age of 15 after eating sesame seeds that were baked into the dough of a baguette. The label on the packaging didn’t include this ingredient.

@wattshan @UHSFT @UHSFTresearch People with food allergies are at risk of life-threatening anaphylaxis and, in cases of anaphylactic death, the average time between consuming a food and cardiorespiratory arrest is only 30 minutes. The dangers patients and their families face every day are significant.

@wattshan This includes my son Charlie who has been lucky enough to benefit from the charity’s £2.5 million immunotherapy trial for his milk allergy. The clinical team @UHSFT and @UHSFTresearch have been fantastic throughout and we are very fortunate to have them leading the UK trial.

@wattshan This charity and everything it has done for people with food allergies has transformed the public’s understanding and the level of medical care and treatment available for patients.

In particular I have to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to my sister @wattshan who wanted to make reaching the target for Charlie a family effort so donated a whopping £1,910 to get it to 100% in one fell swoop! Amazing. Can’t thank you enough 🙏❤️
