Notice how on the day Trump promises to release the Epstein files he actually releases Andrew Tate, another sex trafficking rapist.

Excited to share our new review, published in @CJCJournals. We reviewed research on plant-based meat alternatives (PBMAs) and how they compare to meat for cardiovascular health. Co-authors: @FeliciaRHN

Absolute masterclass in nuanced discussion of scientific literature from Sniderman and Akl here focusing on claims regarding the ostensible diagnostic power of zero CAC scores among those with elevated serum lipids found in a recent study 👌

Erythritol paper getting lots of legs, which is too bad because there are many better papers in NM everyday. Linked is a great thread for a synopsis of key takeaways, but I am still seeing people and media make spurious claims, so let's look at the relevant biochem/metabolism 🧵

Excellent discussion between @theproof and @AndreaGlennRD (who has completed some fantastic in the past few years) about the definition and components of cardiometabolic health as well its relationship with diet composition.

@DawnaMughalPhD Are you sure? On health twitter, I've learned that if a little of something is healthy, massive amounts of it can only be better.

I'm thrilled to share my first first-author publication: a review paper on plant-based diets and a range of important CVD biomarkers. A huge congrats & thanks to my amazing co-first author, Soraeya Kharaty, and our supervisor, Dr. Catherine Phillips. (1/8) https://t.co/5Kjd2nWoxE

Plant-based diets (PBDs) are becoming increasingly popular. Thus far, the literature has focused on their association with lipid profiles, with less investigation of lipoprotein and inflammatory...

Overall results were fairly promising despite the short duration and smaller sample size, we’re hoping they can be reproduced in a larger, longer trial with a more diverse sample.

Excited to share the results of a pilot clinical study on blackcurrant supplementation for the prevention of postmenopausal bone loss led by my advisor that I was lucky enough to assist with!

https://t.co/TqOoVeLIr2 Fantastic video going over the inane ramblings of a man with a terminal case of logorrhea. Props to Danny for taking the time to sift through everything and composing a comprehensive yet approachable video, definitely not a simple task

The poor man is likely rolling in his grave considering how frequently his viewpoints are misrepresented in the exact way he explicitly stated they shouldn’t be. For the love of god, please actually read them if you intend on invoking them in any discourse related to causality.

PSA: Bradford Hill’s *viewpoints* are not criteria. Hill was very clear his *viewpoints* are not a simple checklist of requirements for causal inferences, but a collection of important considerations that may (or may not) increase our certainty an observed association is causal.

It’s important clinically to understand RR *and* absolute risk reduction. But for the 👏LOVE 👏OF 👏SCROD the minuscule cumulative incidence of CVD from a 3-yr pharma trial is 👏NOT the same thing as your 👏PATIENTS’ 👏LIFETIME 👏RISK. HEART DISEASE IS THE #1 CAUSE OF DEATH.
You can tell the TwitterDiet zealots have never been involved in any clinical nutrition research bc they're constantly in mentions about drug trials with disease endpoints whining about absolute vs relative risks, things you can't even calculate for their fav diet alternative..
