the siege of sarajevo started 32 years ago today. in the 1,425 days of the siege over 1,600 children were killed. the effects of this are still felt today. in the 181 days of israel's latest attack on gaza 14,000 children have been killed. i find this loss incomprehensible.

@j_emtseva like if someone defends the right of shell to destroy a local ecosystem, to me that is very much a thing we should question as an ethical choice.

in the chapter i look at a lil bit of history, a lil bit of theory and i explore IL as potentially emancipatory by looking at environmental activism in bosnia. this final part of the chapter wouldn't have been possible without alma midzic, who's an activist and writer from Bosnia

we're so inspired by the courage and determination of students at columbia (& absolutely appalled by the university's decision to try and violently suppress their protest), so here's a little 🧵 with videos from campuses expressing solidarity with columbia students & palestine

They are using ex-Mossad agents to train people with “Arabic sounding names” and who are “Arab-looking” to wear a keffiyeh, attend protests & gather intelligence. (Interesting that San Diego, CA is one of the cities they are targeting.)
