Growth, growth, growth is a great objective, but only if it applies to sea ice, forests, species variation, and collective human understanding of the intrinsic value of nature . The only growth I’m aware of is political ignorance of this .
UK politics, @BBCr4today great to hear @KateRaworth making the crucial point that 'growth, growth, growth' is the wrong objective & catastrophic for the environment & climate. Kate should be on every programme to explain a lie repeated is still a lie & the wrong policy objective.

The pic shows our tear-down of a disposable vape by the way, that big lozenge in the middle is the lithium battery. 2 million a week sold in the UK. All thrown away.

30 years of the Columbia glacier in one video⬇️ The Columbia tidewater glacier has retreated more than 20 km and lost about half of its total thickness and volume. 👉The changing climate is thought to have nudged it into retreat in the 80s, resulting in its end breaking off.

The Arctic is warming much faster than the rest of the world, thanks so "Arctic amplification" – a scary but well-documented phenomenon. But new research finds that this effect is stronger than previously thought! My writeup of a new study for @CarbonBrief 👇

In April 1938, @GuyCallendar published the first confirmation using observations that the world had already warmed by around 0.3°C. He linked that warming to the increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by burning fossil fuels. 84 years ago. https://t.co/AfIXXeYeiJ

A reminder that the world has already warmed by 1.1°C. Our collective choices determine what happens next. If we choose not to act, Or fail to adapt, Then suffer we will.
