On Linux, Control-C and Control-V don't work for copying and pasting in terminals. The Control modifier is used for its original purpose of inserting control codes. Instead, terminal apps require an...

Attempting to follow up with @Doordash_Help resulted in the chat app playing dead saying "There was a network error, trying to reconnect". What a craptastic experience for work meal vouchers. 0/10, cannot recommend.

@DoorDash_Help chat immediately hung up on me, and gave me these 10 step checklists that blamed the problem on me. Replying back to chat got a different agent who required a PIN, then immediately hung up on me while I looked for it.

Just had a horrible experience with @DoorDash I had a voucher from work, but DoorDash required adding a payment method even though the voucher covered the meal, but checking out still failed. Adding Apple Pay still failed. Adding PayPal still failed.

The other option is for hosting costs of heavy uploaders to be offset by a sufficient number of customers who require little storage. Flickr is example of service that offered unlimited uploads for a fixed and price and then-- surprise-- raised their rates due to increase costs

To make a profit, people either need to cancel their accounts before the hosting costs exceed their fees, or an continual price increases will be required to cover the costs of ever-growing upload amounts.

There's a fun bug in @DeepLcom Spanish->English translation issue at least on the web & iOS. If you include `tomat` at the end of certain lists, the word "tomatoes" will be repeated many times in the output. The longer the list that proceeds "tomat", the more "tomatoes"!

The permission request doesn't even make sense. It describes the need to access an "integrated network server", but I run no such server for them on my local network. Since @Linguee doesn't own any servers on my local network, what's it really connecting to?

Bloomington has three clusters of shops and office buildings. All have housing nearby, but only downtown is pleasant for walking. Imagine our other "village centers" were walk/bike friendly and there was less traffic congestion and epic parking lots.

I reviewed the @what3words that matched my home property. At least one of them resolves to a valid, available domain. Tempted to register it.

It's not a good day to upgrade your Ubuntu Linux 20.04 servers running on Docker on any cloud. A bad kernel bug causes the servers to crash as soon as docker starts. https://t.co/PjgfcQ2Wz1 You'll have to revert your kernel or turn off Docker if you get bit.

I'm active on Github as my work is there and nearly all open source projects are hosted there as well, but my active personal repos have moved to @Gitlab (And some are private, so the account appears less active then it is). If your up for it, self-hosting is an option, too.

Drew DeVault posts why he recommends using open source infrastructure to host open source software projects. Diverse ecosystems are healthy. OSS has an over-reliance on Github. Competition is good. Consider hosting at @gitlab or Code Forge.

CONA put out a statement advising neighborhood associations to not have exclusionary bylaws. NWSNA updated their bylaws to remove exclusions & the Park Ridge NA has made both their boundaries and bylaws more inclusive.
