#complexcare kids who turn 18 are dropped from their teams at @SickKidsNews and other complex care programs across the province. There isn’t even a scotch tape fix for that! I’d settle for a patchy reactive fix that keeps my son safe!

I called the Vent Pool to refill sensors. Because he is over 19, he no longer qualifies. Uses his vent + sat monitor 18+ hrs. Without notice, I was told that we need to get our own with the help of our respirolgist. Since getting evicted from @SickKidsNews, we’re alone.

This is a joke. It’s a way to make pediatric communities feel better about themselves evicting the most vulnerable into an adult system ill-equipped to safely manage their care. Until real change happens, our complex kids should remain with their teams.
