Final thoughts on the @outrank_so controversy 👇 Tibo, Eugene and Outrank customers have clarified that the "Article created by Outrank" backlink only applies to trial accounts. Evidently there is a large disclaimer indicating that this will be added to articles. Great. Clever
Another gripe with @outrank_so 👇 Outrank is exploiting its customers by inserting a link pointing back to Outrank in every single article. Just Google "Article created using Outrank" They are systematically manufacturing a massive backlink profile by cheating their customers.

TLDR don’t waste your time building AI visibility tracking tools
- “Tim, what does @Ahrefs think of all these new "AI visibility" tools popping up this year?” ^ you can imagine I get this a lot. (Once it even came from someone working at one of these tools.) Well... Here’s my honest take: Right now, these tools are mostly competing with

Unpopular opinion Indie hacking isn’t about money at all. It’s about status. You could make more money with less effort with a regular, high-skilled job. This is why most indie makers want to be influencers: they’re searching for status and meaning, not necessarily money.

I’m building up two existing long-term projects in 2026 and putting one on “autopilot.” I’m done building AI tools. They’re neat but will get consumed by the big platforms in time. I’m going to focus on products that deliver value without AI. It’s a bizarre concept in this AI

Surfer just published a study that should worry anyone tracking AI search visibility. They ran 2,000 tests comparing API-based data vs. scraped results from ChatGPT and Perplexity. The findings? API results and what users actually see are completely different. Most AI

Is anyone having success with @tinyadz_? I love the concept but even the “Engaged Clicks” aren’t translating to visits in my analytics software.

Oofta You see a product like Outrank come along and think it must be onto something. Then you realize what it’s actually selling is DA, backlinks. It’s a backlink exchange network. The kind that is explicitly prohibited by Google I’m glad its customers are seeing results but

Your auto-blogging tool might be putting your long-term strategy at extreme risk. Building your DA with a manipulated backlinking strategy ALWAYS gets hammered by Google eventually. Private Blog Networks (PBNs) & Backlink Exchange Networks are the same thing 👇

It took me 2 months to hit my first $100 MRR. Nobody cared. It felt slow, painful, I almost quit. Then suddenly… It only took a few days to reach $1,000 MRR (after one video went viral) Early stages aren’t about making $$ They’re about learning, iterating, and finding

Auto-blogging platforms create the worst AI images. These tools tanks brands even though they “generate traffic.” If you’re using AI to create content, at least take the time to edit articles and place your own images. You’re better off publishing less content at a higher

Businesses always have their own best interest in mind. This is nothing new, just a new modality. LLM providers could easily identify that the domain is associated with the #1 product being recommended and disregard the result.
If you think AI tools are ethically shady, you have a moral duty to check out @ahrefs research from last week showing how to effectively spam your way into AI mentions with self-promotional "best of" lists 👇

With all the latest murmurs about people switching from ChatGPT to Gemini, it might be a good time to share this friendly reminder that those same old spam policies that applied to SEO also apply to Google's evaluation of the sites it references and cites in AI search (Gemini, AI
