People mentioning SAO as another precursor really don't seem to realize (or what's more likely, weren't there in the first place) that the type of fans that it brought to the medium were markedly different, " nerdier " and less of a mainstream audience than the AOT/MHA/OPM surge

How do people blatantly make shit like this up without feeling completely pathetic about it
@hana_biart @DeshiMarsh The anime itself is a satire making fun of the people who view the girls sexually. Do i think it could've been handled better? Of course. But i would say it also came out in 2013 and is a somewhat product of it's time.

You can't do bits on twitter anymore without having to spell it out like it's for 5 year olds because this post is so obviously teasing him for not calling it an Eroge and you got hundred of people shitting their pants thinking it's some woke SJW anti porn denial thing.

And its so weird because Rumiko really doesn't qualify as an ecchi mangaka like Nagai does, its just that these two genres are so interconnected and her influence just completely overpowers his on every level that isn't meta. This was even the case in the 80s! Look at Outlanders!

Nagai broke barriers, yes, but the aesthetic, the conventions, the tones - Nagai is on an island with everything that gives these works life from within the works themselves. Because those are all being drawn from Rumiko Takahashi's works instead.

Any work you like in these genres assuredly drew something from her work, either directly or indirectly through other works that were drawing from her work. Yet if you used to talk about this history there's a strange obsession with shuffling credit to Go Nagai.

From my experience, people online try so hard to avoid acknowledging this when it comes to harem and ecchi series. Rumiko Takahashi is like the Tolkien of anime/manga romcoms in general in terms of how far spread her influence is. It's just the default mode for these genres.
Rumiko Takahashi was a pioneer of the harem genre. Most of the tropes you see in this genre, you see because she made them.

Tem gente realmente surpresa por uma mulher trabalhar em 100 Kanojo Como se uma das pessoas mais importantes pro gênero harém existir (e considerada até mesmo a criadora dele) não fosse uma mulher

"ThE fAnSeRvIcE iS sO uNnEcEsSaRy" Okay sure but like, so is the spoiler on my car and the cheese on my nachos. But I sure like them more with those things. You wanna eat your nachos sauceless, that's fine, just don't try to force me to eat your dry-ass chips. 🤷♀️

An alarming number of weebs who complain about "tourists trying to force anime to change to suit their sentiments by wanting to remove female fanservice" are guilty of the same thing by wanting to remove POC, queer and non-"sexy waifu" female characters from anime.

always funny but also deeply concerning every time people are shocked that women make ecchi/porn unless it's laundered through very specific shit but again you see what I mean when I say male sexuality is practically illegal?
The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You by Rikito Nakamura and Yukiko Nozawa will be adjusting its serialization schedule due to Nozawa Yukiko's pregnancy and maternity leave. Further information and dates will be given through official accounts.

It's sad. Everything about this is an appeal for validation. He's scared an anime he likes is being lowered to the level of seasonal isekai, so he's gotta pull from the source of "making shit up" to try to act like there's distance. It's gotta be miserable to be this way, man.
@The_Weeb_Crew Evangelion is criticising escapism itself and what Anno wanted was to elevate anime to a point where it could be seen as a genuine, respectable art-form, rather than escapist fantasies that have little to say about anything of importance.

I really want to know what compels some people to be horny performatively. Like if you're legit into something weird I can respect it, but some people really just lie because they think it looks good? Like okay now I just think you wanna fuck grandma's, you're still weird bro,
