Part of me can't help wondering if the same controversies would even happen if they just didn't report on it. Or if it'd still happen just through different news outlets, and if so, would it be to the same extent. I just know every time it's always them I see.

It happens with anime too, but depends on which one. But I don't think I've seen a single time where they reported on a Vtuber where the replies weren't a hot mess.

Every single time Dexerto reports on Vtubers, from my observation, it results in week long controversies commented on by people who don't know what they're talking about, and it is very annoying.

A lot of people are saying "you're just not used to it, you used to think the same thing with Japanese at first" but I honestly didn't. I had preconceptions about it, but when I watched it, I didn't really need to think about it. Same thing when I watched Parasite and Squid Game.

Like I'd say a romance where there's a main couple who are explicitly advertised to end up together, only for it to be interrupted by love rivals partway through. But Toradora is one of my favorite anime and it (technically) does this.

I've come to realize that I don't think there are any tropes I universally despise. Usually it just boils down to lazy writing.
Trope so ass it makes you roll your eyes whenever you come across it.

With the way some of these games are structured, often it's entire setting is built from the ground up to essentially be a harem experience for guys. And they often aren't shy about that. So what's the point of adding male characters. Just make a new game?.

The part I don't get about this kind of conversation is why not just ask for more gacha games that are aimed at women instead of trying to change the ones aimed at dudes? LADS is huge isn't it?.
I see a few tweets saying "There should be male Nikkes" and this is how I know people don't read.

What's really important imo though is to NOT get angry or emotional, or at the very least don't let it show. Being emotional on Twitter is the equivalent of bleeding in shark-infested waters.

Not saying there's a perfect solution, or to stop having fun and shitposting or whatever. But some of y'all get into serious arguments but are like. really bad at arguing. And then they screenshot it and have a field day with it. If you know you're not good at it, sometimes.
