Despite a lot of talk about the gig economy, little systematic research exists on its scale and nature for the UK. Really important work by @sbmqmul PhD student @YuliyaTavares using @usociety data establishes some new (and interesting!) facts.
Great new article on prevalence & characteristics of #gigwork in the UK by @YuliyaTavares using @usociety data. I for one did not know that cloud work (Upwork etc) hugely outnumbers local gigs (e.g. delivery/taxi drivers)! @WorkFoundation @UKDataService
