⚠️COVID scam warning: someone called my 73 y/o dad saying that he was COVID+. But he was neither symptomatic nor ever tested. They listed his identifying info, all correct but DOB. When he told them "that's not my DOB" they asked "well, what is your DOB?" Warn your elderly pts!

Never ceases to amaze me how holding the hands of an elderly agitated patient can calm them down. It works a surprisingly large percentage of the time! Avoids unneeded meds. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!

Intern tip: unless you're carrying a code/RRT pager, when your pager goes off, try to learn to finish the task you're doing, then look at your pager i.e. finish typing current sentence/paragraph or putting in an order etc
This decreases task switching ➡️ saves time/sanity

A year ago today: the 1st day UChicago began to take action re: impending pandemic. DOM research day. Poster presentations cancelled. Oral presentations w/strict capacity limits. Was also a very personally emotional day for me. Huge milestone. But what a strange memory 🙃
