Random thought: Why are creation and consumption so disproportionate? . Examples:.Hours to prepare a meal; consumed in a few minutes. Months-even years-to write a book; read in a few hours. My take: Personal enrichment comes from creating something worth consuming.

Been following this journey. Each step has mirrored the debacle I had with an ER visit for my then 1-year-old son. When I got to this part--having a "revenue cycle management" company and then "experts" consider the bill justified--I finally gave up and gave in.
Latest update on my @MayoClinic ER visit bill dispute: .They talked to their coding company (whose primary purpose is to maximize THEIR collections), and said they also checked regional average charges… and say they are justified in charging $9000+ for IV fluids and labs. 🤦🏽♂️

The problem with the research-practice gap goes beyond communication; it also concerns the way research is produced and assessed. This paper proposes a shift to participatory approaches to achieve more pertinent and impactful research. 1/
