Promising evidence for cultivating kindness, humor, hope, perspective & gratitude. Insufficient evidence that cultivating virtues in general improves wellbeing. No trials of interventions that try to cultivate curiosity, perseverance, honesty, judgment, or prudence.

Our preprint is out! 🧠✨ We surveyed 121 people on depersonalization/derealization (#DPDR)-like states from #meditation vs. other triggers (trauma, stress, cannabis…). TL;DR: similar phenomenology, different appraisal. https://t.co/Q8kneGWCE1 #MeditationResearch 1/5

🧘‍♀️Meditation is often recommended for mental health, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all solution. The Centre, @ntvandam and @MSSatUoC, recently shared insights with Liam Mannix at The Age about why some people find meditation challenging and what to do instead.
