Vaccines work. Now we know masks also help! Thanks @SabiVM
Two new Canadian studies demonstrating the efficacy of masks. These studies show that mandatory masking, esp during periods of high respiratory viruses in the community, can result in reductions in absenteeism, prevent infections and deaths & reduce economic burden. 🧵 1/9

British Writer Pens The Best Description Of Trump I’ve Read “Why do some British people not like Donald Trump? A few things spring to mind. Trump lacks certain qualities which the British traditionally esteem. For instance, he has no class, no charm, no coolness, no

This true @ijbailey I have held academic appointments at 10 universities. Tier 1 universities have more research $$ but undergraduates won’t necessarily see top professors in class because they buy out of teaching. Elite universities are more important for professional degrees.
This is just sad. A cold-hard fact: The overwhelming majority of students who can do the work at top colleges won't get in to their top choices - because there are not enough slots. But they've been convinced getting one of those rare slots is the only way to be successful. 1/

Two standards of justice exist in the 🇺🇸. Those with privilege, usually white and ALWAYS with access to lawyers and/or wealth, avoid incarceration in the worst prisons. When they are released and resume their privilege. @TalbertSwan Similar problems in 🇨🇦
Kalief Browder was FALSELY accused of stealing a backpack. He spent three years in Rikers Island, one of the worst prisons in the world, awaiting trial, mostly in solitary confinement. He committed suicide. Donald Trump has 78 federal and state criminal charges. He goes home

Billionaires exist only because they have taught you to believe that without billionaires the world would fall apart. All the while, the concentration of wealth in the billionaires of the world is destroying the world, the people and democracy. Never believe a billionaire.

Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives ran on this promise only two years ago. They’d hoped you’d forgotten. Now they’re spreading misinformation about it in support of American billionaires and tech giants instead of doing what’s right for Canada.
Conservatives ran on similar media policy as Liberals, but now claim it's censorship https://t.co/8qPFtgokkf

Agreed @JoyceWhiteVance I don’t believe the Founding Fathers wrote that 🇺🇸taxpayers should pay Secret Service protection…or federal pensions… or health benefits to convicted traitors in the Constitution. #StopPayingTraitorsWithTaxes
It really galls me that he gets Secret Service protection for the rest of his life. I understand the reasons. I just resent it.

Ontario, did you know that Doug Ford has over $7.2 billion that was allocated to our healthcare and refuses to spend it? Call your local MPP and demand this money be used NOW to fix our healthcare crisis! This isn't Ford's personal slush fund. It's our money!
Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer has found that the Ford government failed to spend $7.2 billion of its budget last year, including $1.7 billion unspent on health as ERs are closing and surgery waitlists are growing https://t.co/cUGX1EZte9

Osama bin Laden did not fly the planes himself. But he was responsible. Adolf Hitler did not operate the gas chambers himself. But he was responsible. Donald J. Trump did not storm the Capitol himself. But he was responsible. Justice matters.

This is why Ford’s spending promises are worthless.

All Bill Barr is doing now by finally speaking out to confirm what we all knew months ago, is to show that he knew what Trump was doing when he was Attorney General AND HE DID AND SAID NOTHING to protect the American people. What a coward.

“Actions of Trump, not Trump’s belief’s, are the heart of Trump’s 3rd indictment. “ Thanks for 🧵 @JuddLegum
1. @washingtonpost, @axios, @cnn, and @nytimes are all "reporting" that, to convict Trump, Jack Smith has to prove Trump knew he was lying about the 2020 election Trump's lawyer is saying the same thing. And so is Fox. The problem with this analysis is it's completely wrong 🧵
