Let me tell you what grates on my last nerves: Being lectured to about conservatives and Trump fans by people who spend their downtime in Paris or are living in liberal bastions in California. A thread.

For those not in the know, like Mat. There are several state-owned businesses in the U.S., and Trump has been adding to that list. But here in NC, the state owns the liquor stores. And we haven’t died yet from that socialism. https://t.co/HYL3zc0v4R

The issue was discussed Wednesday during a meeting of the Committee on Government Efficiency, a new group modeled after President Trump's DOGE initiative.
@veganmacnchees Sure, name me a western-European country with government owned grocery stores.

Virginia voters chose Jay Jones because of “economic angst.” Am I doing it right, fellow journalists?

“That is worse than anything I’ve ever heard anyone on the Right say.” Well, when you refuse to hear…
The sitting Attorney General of Virginia said he wants to watch the children of his political opponents die in their arms. That is worse than anything I’ve ever heard anyone on the Right say. By far. And he still won his election.

Maybe time to retire the polling data saying the Democratic brand is toxic or unpopular, given how well the party’s been performing at the actual polls all year?

I have not seen a single Trump-supporting conservative show any signs of introspection about their role in the ugly state of things after last night. It’s truly astounding, but not surprising.
A man who fantasized about killing children in a text has officially become Attorney General of Virginia. What a day in America. You own this Democrats.

The most incredible illustration of the Trump-loving folks upset about the VA AG race being completely blind to what they’ve done is the Fox News host who called for the mass murder of homeless people - on the air! - asking why Dems don’t have higher standards.

Every Donald Trump supporter should remain completely silent about the Virginia AG's race - or call for Trump's resignation as well.

Trump inspired a violent insurrection - and Republicans put him back in the White House. He mocked political opponents who were violently attacked. What are you talking about?!
"That thanks to Trump, the bar for disqualifying behavior is now in hell." You're going to hear that a lot, but it's not really true. What Jones did was way worse than any GOP/MAGA candidate I can recall. NC's Mark Robinson got caught saying weird sex stuff and ran 18 points

This is what it looks like when you've bought into every stereotype about your political opponents. You lose all sense of reality, and confidently share your delusions with others.
People in red states: please share all of the horrible, scary things about your state to warn people against moving there

This is the one Democrat I didn't want to win last night. Those texts should have been disqualifying. But we are in the Trump era, where the GOP established a new norm, that nothing is disqualifying. So conservatives upset about this, just look in the mirror.
Thank you, Virginia. It is the honor of a lifetime to be your next Attorney General. I will never stop fighting for you.

Since November, Democrats have been doing extremely well at the ballot box and are poised to do extremely well during the midterms. Maybe it means American politics are cyclical and that’s unwise to believe any trend is permanent or that’s it’s only about “messaging.” Who knew?!

Allie. Please go away. You don’t speak for all of us here in the South.
Democrats in NYC & VA, please bookmark this for a year from now: the south is FULL. Florida is full Texas is full Tennessee is full Georgia is full South Carolina is full Live with your vote and don’t come down here. Thanks

Tim was rooting for Donald Trump in 2024.
He should promise tomorrow to resign on Day One, because he obviously is disqualified. Spanberger or the legislature would get to appoint his replacement. I am sure they can find a Democratic lawyer who doesn't wish death on his opponents and their children.
