Today, I delivered my condolence motion on the longest ever serving NSW Treasurer, Michael Egan. And I’m honoured to have delivered it in the presence of his closest friends and family. Vale Michael - your impact continues to be felt to this day.

Kurt Vonnegut's 8 rules for writing that I think everyone should consider: 1. Use the time of a total stranger in such a way that he or she will not feel the time was wasted. 2. Give the reader at least one character he or she can root for. 3. Every character should

The 2023-24 NSW Budget will be handed down by the Treasurer, Daniel Mookhey, on 19 September 2023. Budget bills must be introduced in the NSW Legislative Assembly so the Treasurer, a member of the Upper House, will make the short trip to that chamber to deliver the Budget.

The stabbing of a Service NSW worker today in Sydney is horrifying. The thoughts of our government and our state are with this worker and their family at what is no doubt a very difficult time. To all the staff at Service NSW and those first responders on the scene - thank you.

Tonight we remember the life and sacrifice of paramedic, Steven Tougher. A life taken far too soon - and a life dedicated to serving others. We hope this small gesture gives strength to all those who knew Steven and his 5,000-strong paramedic family.

Six fundamental beliefs that bias our view of the world: 1. My experience is a reasonable reference. 2. I make correct assessments of the world. 3. I am good. 4. My group is a reasonable reference. 5. My group is good. 6. People's attributes (not context) shape outcomes.
Psychologists have posited hundreds of cognitive biases over the years. A new paper argues that they all boil down to one of a handful of fundamental beliefs coupled with confirmation bias. https://t.co/bDDmNftq7M

The COVID vaccines are overwhelmingly safe and effective - according to the science. I’ve had 4 doses of 3 different vaccines, 2 episodes of COVID (the disease), and will have the 5th dose in the next few weeks.
@Miljew91 @JohnRuddick2 Has anyone asked Dr Karl from Triple J what his take is on the vaccine? Be interested to know as he seems very honest and trustworthy @DoctorKarl

The end of poverty is possible. Each country shown on this chart achieved a large decline in extreme poverty over the last generation. This is one of the most important lessons we can learn from the available data: rapid progress against poverty can be achieved.
