Correct. Several reptiles will, when attacked, shed a nutritious fat-filled tail peripheral tail segment to divert the pursuer.
@DoctorKarl Skinks that shed their own tails (usually to escape predators) don't regrow the whole tail; the new tail lacks one (or more, in the case of serially unlucky skinks) vertebrae. The rest is cartilage.

This knowledge (how to re-grow body parts) is huge. We are acquiring this knowledge very slowly.
@DoctorKarl Fascinating! But a lizard cannot say "I need a new tail" so how does it grow one?.

But the main chemical seems to be Trichloramine - due to reactions between chlorine and human exudates (sweat, skin cells, skin lotions, urine etc).
Hey @DoctorKarl hoping you can help. I go to the indoor swimming pool on the weekend with my kids. When I go outside and sometimes for 30-45min afterwards - there’s a distinct musky/chemically smell I smell. What could it be?.

I’m not skilled in Swimming Pool Chemistry, but the traditional answer is Chlorine-chemicals, follow by ? Bromine? Ozone? Somebody help please.

Good point, but consciousness is so hard to solve.
@DoctorKarl . hey D K . u just said our brain puts 'emphasis' on certain things while walking . isn't this consciousness (salience network in insula of brain, new scientist last issue).
