We couldn't agree more! Great to see the achievements of Prof. Joanne Etheridge recognised, and importantly, recognition of the significant impact electron microscopy has in understanding materials @micro_au @Monash_MTRP
The ability to see at the atomic scale is a superpower when you're studying superconductor and semiconductor materials - vitally important for developing renewable energy. Delighted to see Joanne Etheridge's work recognised. @MCEM_Monash

A lovely example from Monash (one of our earliest #Pulse customers) swapping "arb. units" for true event-rates. The SNR boost at femto-amp beam currents is ideal for beam-sensitive specimens. Congrats to the whole team. More info at: https://t.co/8z2nQ5YHjx

We use glass countless times each day, yet few realise that much about its atomic structure remains a mystery. Dr Amelia Liu receives the John Booker Medal for her research bringing a new clarity to what's known as the “glass problem”. https://t.co/MVXoYxwIEL

Can't wipe the smile off our face with this one! Congratulations to MCEM Alum, Dr Amelia Liu, for being awarded the John Booker Award from the Australian Academy of Science 🌟 Absolutely 'smashing it', pun intended! @micro_au, #NCRISimpact
Dr Liu's work illuminates the atomic-scale causes of ageing and brittle failure in glasses. And her innovative new characterisation methods are a step towards engineering the properties of glasses from the atomic level. The result? Tougher materials are starting to take shape.

Extremely happy to be part of this awesome story. Congratulations @greeninglab, @Rhys__G, @Ashleigh_Kropp and all the amazing collaborators. Cryo-EM powered by @CryoEM_Monash
In @Nature today (open access), we report the structural and mechanistic basis of how bacteria harvest energy from air. We reveal a novel enzyme, Huc, consumes atmospheric levels of hydrogen gas and transfers the derived electrons for aerobic respiration.
