Superb news Luke! Slowly but surely people come around as we continue to produce high quality evidence on DSED, its mechanism and most important its benefit to those in refractory VF.

Of the 40,000 resuscitation attempts carried out by emergency services in the UK each year, fewer than 10% survive. Let's change this. Learn CPR and be ready to act.

@TheResusRoom paramedic's admistering naloxone inline with this (less mcg's rather than the full 400mcg which JRCalc states) or is this not an issue due to being under Schedule 19?

Finally caught up with the @TheResusRoom's podcast on Opioid Overdose - recommend everyone listening to this as it reinforced but also challenged many things in my head about these jobs. In terms of RCEM's naloxone guidelines, would there be any legal ramifications for 1/2

Just a reminder that you can resuscitate a shock patient infinitely faster through an 18-gauge IV in their vein than a 14-gauge IV in the sharps container

Excited to have finished the first draft of my dissertation. Had some really exciting conversations with pre-hospital practitioners about this topic recently. @DrCheskes thank you for mentoring me and here's to the exciting future🥂

@ParamedicsUK this is a good thread which backs up that I feel it's time we as the paramedic profession regulate with a speciality register all advanced paramedics and that we should fine ways to stop the use of adv prac titles if there isn't a minimum standard met.

Dear Patients, The titles of health professionals you see might not mean what you think. If the advice or treatment you are offered by any health professional seems odd, then it's ok to question us on it. It's also ok to ask about our credentials (as long as you're polite!)

Unfortunately I was greeted with this at 60mph on the M1. Can't help but think having a hard shoulder, as opposed to a refuge area that was a mile away, would have been much safer. 🤔🤔 #m1 #smartmotorway #motorway

Do any Ambulance Trusts (or anyone else for that matter) have protocols for Duel Sequential defibrillation? JRCalc says its not recommended but I've seen a study (and some anecdotal evidence) recently saying it's effective
