Congratulations to 15-year-old Khan Odita on the official opening of Urbanscape - a new community garden in the heart of Toxteth. Khan set up the Mulgrave Street Action Group to help realise his vision to transform a piece of derelict land near his home into an urban oasis.
Really sad to hear of the death of Birkenhead's finest - Paul O'Grady. As well as being a much-loved entertainer he was a constant advocate for the oppressed - both human and animal - and a wonderful ambassador for our region. RIP Paul.

Steve Rotheram will announce a commission to bring a new station to Liverpool city centre this morning. It will accommodate future HS2 and Northern Powerhouse trains bringing huge benefits for LCR and the North as a whole.
Finishing touches are being added to new bus shelters in West Derby Street and Prescot Street serving the new Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
