From today, parents in England are entitled to 30 hours of government funded childcare. Working parents of children between nine months and four years old are eligible. The government said the scheme will save families an average of £7,500 a year.

The Government is launching a chickenpox vaccination programme to protect around half a million children each year. From January 2026, eligible children will be offered the MMRV vaccine – protecting against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox. Eligibility details to follow.
