🚢 The new @MerseyFerries hits a major milestone!. Steve visited Cammell Laird today to watch the funnel lowered onto the Royal Daffodil – the first new ferry in over 60 years. Built right here in the Liverpool City Region, it'll be sailing 'cross the River Mersey next year.

“The idea is to raise the money and it will enhance the visitor offer we have. Our visitor economy is worth £6.25bn and we want more people to come here. It’s not an ideological thing, it’s so we can democratically raise funding to spend on our area.”.
