Good to hear @bphillipsonMP emphasising the need for partnerships & the problematic direction of funding towards crisis intervention (whilst spending on early intervention children's services decreases). Interested to see how this is reflected in next month's budget🙏.
I sat down with @tes to discuss my first two months as Secretary of State for Education. We inherited a £22bn black hole in the public finances, and a societal black hole too. Our country voted for change, so we're getting on with fixing the foundations.

Fantastic to see positive outcomes for young people in this 7to7 school initiative at All Saints Catholic College with local organisations in our community in west London. We all need to work together to provide the support and opportunities children need to flourish.
Great to be featured in @BusinessInsider by @beafreyanolan who looked at the outcomes of our extended provision.

The opportunity to do away with the stubborn attainment gap is now. Disjointed, insular and inconsistent support is not enough- we can be more ambitious for the children being left behind, and we must see them as whole. Striking findings from @EduPolicyInst today.
⬇️@EduPolicyInst shining a light on the attainment gap which stands at its widest in a decade. Poverty, SEND, geography, EAL. none of these should be determinants of a child's life. How we support the 90% of children on our programme living in poverty-
