I’ve shared the access refusal data with the Press. First left 140 wheelchair users at the side of the road in 9 months, but never mind hey, that’s apparently only 0.001% of journeys so let’s console ourselves with that 🙄 First is an operator with an attitude problem 🧵

The Kingdon review of children’s hearing services was commissioned following a series of failures in the screening & care of deaf children. The findings are deeply concerning and provide a serious ‘wake-up call’ to everyone delivering child health services https://t.co/rLjEGMMkI3

Today’s LCSP review: Sara Sharif’s murder was committed by her father and not prevented due to serious LA safeguarding errors. Home education was not to blame. Yet the same overstretched LAs will now oversee new home-ed registers. Will this prevent harm or cause more errors?

The Department for Education chose legally enforced in-person attendance over mass fatalities ...during a pandemic! The consequences were all too real for those in high-risk families...

On the news today, @TPEassist said that "staff will always help to move luggage" in the wheelchair space. Er...
Lots of luggage in my reserved wheelchair space as usual, @TPEassist. I had to shout for people to move it, because no staff did. Then your catering trolley left blocking my access to the toilet. Staff commented he would normally put it "out of the way" in my wheelchair space.

What @daracalleary et al need to understand is that many #carers CAN'T work outside the home in paid employment because they are working literally 24/7 caring for their disabled loved one, especially if profoundly disabled. I was in that situation for years. @ProfoundIreland
Minister Dara Calleary TD, has today announced a Social Protection Budget package worth over €1.15 billion including record increases in the Carer’s Allowance weekly income disregard. The full list of Budget measures is available at https://t.co/qo6Rxr930K

The Government is proposing to abolish @HealthwatchE. My local Healthwatch went above & beyond when I highlighted poor disabled access to cervical cancer screening. Healthwatch needs to stay as an independent voice for those having issues with NHS care. https://t.co/HYlBtNJVqM
