When Ken Burns asked every living president to recite the Gettysburg Address in 2013, Pres. Carter shared this story about Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin and the Camp David Accords. We are thinking about the President and thought all would appreciate this wonderful story.

Read and watched and recited and parodied Romeo and Juliet with Mrs. Wieda at Keller High School in 1995; now banned for students by people who have sad silly little lives.
Romeo & Juliet is being pulled from @KellerISD libraries & classrooms today. it has been officially challenged & will now be reduced to our book banning checklist where it’s fate will be decided. Until then, teachers can’t read from it, recommend it, or have it on their shelves.

This #InternationalWomansDay I’m thinking of my first real assignment in government, which had some….issues, but an incredible team of early career women who kept pushing. Today, one is a former member of congress, one is a brilliant analyst, two are FAANG execs, and I’m great.

AV was mortally wounded by an IED Nov 17, 2013 in Kandahar. Very much by chance, I passed through the medical facility where extraordinary measures were taken to save my classmates life, just days later. That enervating, sinking feeling is still with me.
