This is my Mum. She’s 66, raised 5 children, helped raise 14 grandchildren (four of whom are mine and in this photo) and worked hard her whole life. She has lived with us for nearly 3 years and today she retired and went home to 🏴. Have a brilliant time Jan - you deserve it x
Today, I fulfilled a lifelong dream & I bought a business. I’ve advised business owners for over 15 years and now I’m going to practice what I preach. I am beyond excited to be the new owner of Making Life Easier in Taunton. I have big plans. Watch this space...
@GeniusSomerset
11 years ago today, Biggsy and I got married. EVERYBODY told us we were mad and it would never work. Most of our family & friends gave it six months, a year at most.
I just wish we’d met sooner

@FreeNazanin
Crying for you all 😞. I hope you get some sleep tonight Richard. Your act of love has not gone unnoticed by the world. We stand with you and will continue to support you in your bid to

@BorisJohnson
SHAME ON YOU 😡
@cspencer1508
I am reading Boy by Roald Dahl to our children. Tonight we were reading the chapter “Homesickness”. They all ask why his Mother didn’t just bring him home from St Peter’s because he was so sad. I said it’s because his Mother thought she was doing the right thing. 😞
Charlie just found 40 euros in the supermarket. he went with his dad to hand it in. On the way, a young man was looking a bit frantic and Richard asked him what was wrong. He said he’d lost 40 euros. So Charlie handed the euros to him and he gave him 20 back for being honest ❤️
Biggsy and I have been happily married for 10 years today! We got hitched at the Registry Office and then celebrated with a delicious luncheon
@Augustustaunton
which relatively new back then!

😉 ❤️❤️
Granny might be behind a screen BUT we got to see her in person for the first time in SEVENTEEN months!!! It was pure joy. We were all so happy. Also sad that Covid has robbed us of a hug and mindful of all those who didn’t make it ❤️
A customer came in today & asked me why I’d stopped badgering
@DJAFothergill
@SomersetCouncil
about East Street. I told her I was tired. Worn out. No one was listening. She was called Pru and she said “that’s what they want darling. Keep going!” So

@Knights_tale
A three month secondment, turned into a 14 year career change. Now it feels like the right time to get back to what I was trained to do - with more commercial experience and a few more miles on the clock! Lunch
@Augustustaunton
to celebrate 🎉
Our dear neighbour and friend is an artist. Every birthday, he gives the children some of his art. This was for Penny. It’s her cat ❤️they don’t realise how lucky they are now, but they will x
I hugged a stranger today. She was crying as her son was unkind in a play area. He refused to apologise so she was taking him home. She looked so sad that the day was ruined. I hugged her & told her she’s doing a great job. Giving children boundaries is hard work but worth it 🙌
Trish is poorly in hospital with Covid and pneumonia. Let’s make her smile, let her feel our love and send our best wishes for a full and speedy recovery ❤️ we love you Trish. You’ve got this ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Out of 32 children in her year, 6 have been chosen to be prefects and Penny is one of them. I’m bursting with pride for her. She’s worked hard the whole time she’s been at school and deserves this recognition. Well done Penny ❤️ xxxxxx
Rich is glad to go back to the office. Today, Clemmie barged “into” his Zoom meeting to tell him she’d done a really big wee on the potty. Everyone gave her a round of applause and she bowed. 🙄🤪
My dear friend Tim. A week ago, we hoped to raise a few 💷 for his lovely family. The outpouring of love for this man is immense. The money raised is a testament to his life of devotion to God, kindness & compassion for others. thank you

She wasn’t allowed to be a bridesmaid for her older brother, so our friends asked her to be a bridesmaid a few weeks ago. She doesn’t always look like she’s been living in the wild for months on end 🤣 oh Clemmie ❤️
We’ve just exchanged on the sale of our house. I thought I’d be excited, but I cried like a baby! Maybe it’s not just bricks and mortar after all 😞anyway, I’m en route to
@GainsBathSpa
so that should cheer me up 😂 happy Friday everyone 😍
Just had a cry. The best friends ever made our day by sending supplies. They know I can’t bake and always have my back when it comes to the children. We love you 😍

Charlie had a little wobble this morning and he’s now full of the joys (and brownie ) xx
I went out for a walk to blow away the cobwebs. I love where we live

I would have been out for a good few hours if a child hadn’t gone head first into a muddy lake *puddle* 🏊♀️ 😭 🏡
So very proud of my brother. We genuinely thought he might die from addiction. He is about to celebrate 10 years of sobriety and now he helps others to get there too. ❤️
Ah Clemmie 🥰 this little snippet will cheer you up on a gloomy, rainy December.
@theemmabritton
she might have been a reluctant Mary, but a Von Trapp? No problem!!
I never thought I could break 5km. I did. I never thought I could make 10km. I did. I only ever stopped myself by thinking I couldn’t!
@rpcridge
you told me the hardest part is putting your trainers on and it always is!
My friend Tim died yesterday. I saw him in his final hour and he was ready to be called home to God. Cancer robs families of so much. Not just the person that they love. It’s much bigger than all of that.
@st_marg
did such a brilliant job. I will never forget. Rest easy now ❤️
After a truly terrible week, Rich and I are off for a little breather

It’s only 20 miles away, but it feels like we could be 1000 miles away from it all

Everyone knows I can’t make pancakes. I have no idea why. Anyway, my French neighbour makes brilliant crepes and brings them round each year for us. She asked me if this was enough? 🤣🤣
I can’t meet my friends outside because it is too dangerous, but I should send my 10 year old son back to school next week, to mingle with 30+ kids... 🤔 I am a law abiding citizen, but that is NOT going to happen
@GavinWilliamson
@BorisJohnson
@MattHancock
Smiling through the lack of sleep, carnage in the house, fighting over who placed baby Jesus in the crib, 15 editions of Connie’s Christmas list and now chicken pox for Clemmie. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Hope you’ve all had a brilliant time ❤️
I’ve noticed lately that when people realise we have 4 children, they ask me if I work. They then always ask if I work full time and seem impressed. Even if I didn’t work at all, raising a family is a worthy “job”. It’s a choice we made, but it’s hard work. Be impressed by that!
Three score and ten. There’s not much you can do about age. You just have to live life as best as you can, for as long as you can. We’re not going to focus on the number. We’re just going to make the most of it, like always. Happy 70th birthday my love

There are some days when you just miss people. Today, if
@Wrexham_AFC
gets promotion, I wish my dad could be here to see it. In fact, I just wish he knew what happened, how it all unfolded. He loved the club, he loved his hometown and he loved Wales 🏴
#GoneButNeverForgotten
Off he went to compete in the Langport Tri. He does it for himself, but also to keep fit for his young family. Every year we have our 100m sprint race. Every year he tells me that the year I beat him, he’ll feel old. I wasn’t even close this year! Keep going Biggsy. We ❤️ you
Took my mum to
@TheRingofBells
for luncheon today. Brilliant atmosphere (jam packed!) and amazing food. Was too greedy and didn’t take pictures, but can highly recommend the chickpea and sweetcorn fritters! Bravo 👏

Here we go... absolutely amazing food!! Cannot thank the team
@Augustustaunton
enough. Socially distanced collection, food all labelled up with instructions, to make it foolproof. Biggsy is just about to turn 68 and he’s not even depressed after this 🤣 p.s fabulous value for 💰
Mum, are you seriously going to homeschool us?
Yes Charlie. We have no choice.
Well who’s taking us for maths?
Me...
Are you ok with that?
It’s KS2 so I hope so 😳
Fine, but I want Dad for history... he’s been there for most of it...
😂😂😂😂
#poorbiggsy
Me: oh I’ll have to phone M&S, there’s a European florist payment on my card. It must be a scam.
Rich: oh that’s me. I’ve bought you flowers for your birthday tomorrow.
Me: on my credit card?
Rich: well I am a named user...

Five years ago today, my Dad died. Just like that. Like the flick of a switch. Give your Dad a hug if you can. You never know when it’s the last time you’ll get to do it ❤️
#gonebutnotforgotten
Charlie doing his first sea dive from a boat. He told me yesterday that he saw a purple spotted stingray. I wonder what he’ll find today. I am so proud of him. Embracing opportunities he’s lucky enough to be given xx
Every night, Rich checks Charlie has left his computer and phone in the utility room so he doesn’t get tempted to use them. Every night. Except last night, I checked. Charlie’s actual kit is in the first pic. The replicas he made are in pictures 2 & 3. Rich! You’ve been had!
Charlie boy - 10 today! He’s been clay pigeon shooting, has a kayak lesson booked at Wimbleball (cancelled due to high winds), received a trail cam, a bat box, binoculars, bird spotter books, and the camo netting below. I doubt I’ll see him for the rest of the day!
I’m off to bid farewell to my dear friend Tim. It breaks my heart that he could not be saved. Maybe one day we will beat cancer, but for now, this day is for you my friend 💔
Three gorgeous girls back to school! Year 5, Year 1 and Reception. The last of my babies has gone to full time school and she was sooooo ready! Go smash it Biggs kids.
@QueensTaunton
Listening to Rich explain to his mum, for the third night in a row, that her parents died almost 50 years ago, is heartbreaking. Dementia is a bastard. That’s all 😞
My beautiful mother in law died on 27 December aged 97. It was bitter sweet. She had suffered with dementia and had been bed-bound for quite some time. She has been reunited with her love and today we celebrate her amazing life. Here she is with Connie on her 93rd birthday ❤️
Someone please explain this, as it bothers me greatly... I go in to a Taunton cafè at 3.20pm and ask for a pot of tea and a toasted teacake. I’m sorry, we’ve stopped serving food. Wtf? Why do cafés do this? You’re OPEN until 4pm! Close at 3.20pm if you don’t want customers!!! Grr
My dear father would have been 74 today. I’ve always mentioned him on his birthday, but I felt reticent to do this year. He died 6.5 years ago and maybe, just maybe I have finally accepted it. Happy heavenly birthday dad.
#GoneButNotForgotten
C: Mum, will I inherit this house when I’m older?
Me: Not sure I’ll be in this house when I get very old.
C: Oh yeah, you’ll be in a care home. Me: I was actually thinking of something like a bungalow or a flat😩 Not going to look to Charlie for assistance when I’m ancient 😂
My fabulous husband is loading the van ready for a sprint triathlon over in Langport tomorrow morning. He is three score and ten in a few months and I am totally in awe of his energy and commitment. Go Biggsy 🏅 🏊♂️ 🚴 🏃♂️
Seven years ago today, my husband left the firm he founded in Exeter having been there for 20+ years. He’s since set up another firm in
