@womeninmalaria @Girl_into_bugs Fun personal note: shoutout to @hostmicrobe for sparking my interest in single-cell analysis. Much progress since @MBLBoP 2022, but it all began one summer evening in the lab exploring parasite single-cell data. Inspirational teacher :).

This project was a true team effort, and I had the privilege of leading it alongside two incredible @womeninmalaria: @Girl_into_bugs & Elaine Cheung. Huge thanks to everyone who played a part!.

This body of work was done in collaboration between physicists from Brazil –including @jaderPolli– and Rogerio Amino’s lab @PIV_IP. For more details and cool modelling, check out the @NatureComms paper:

@UniHeidelberg @FrischknechtLab Together with physicists, they’ve identified that sporozoites alternate between super and sub-diffusive motility, the first enabling them to locate blood vessels scattered in the skin, while the latter is used to probe vessels for invasion hotspots.

Twitterless Pauline Formaglio presented her amazing in vivo imaging data last week @UniHeidelberg thanks to @FrischknechtLab’s invitation. She’s tracked hundreds of sporozoites in the skin characterising search patterns of blood vessel invaders (blue) vs. non-invaders (red)

When you've finished the @MBLBoP bioinformatics module weeks ago but you're still obsessed with coding and making PCA plots. No doubt the module directors got me hooked! @hostmicrobe @omartheharb @KathrynCrouch81

@MBLBoP @AAcostaserrano @aitorcasass @TiagoDSerafim @EvaIniguez_ To @omartheharb, @KathrynCrouch81 and @hostmicrobe, for making bioinformatics such a fun and engaging topic. I knew the “dark” side attracted me and you just made it all the more appealing!.

@MBLBoP So thank you everyone! Shaden, @AAcostaserrano, @aitorcasass, @TiagoDSerafim and @EvaIniguez_, for setting up a vector module that confirmed my passion for this kind of host-parasite interaction.
