Trucking companies dont make money by moving freight, but by training prospective owner operators, leasing them rigs, insuring and servicing those rigs, providing contract and logistics services, etc. Industry turnover is 98%.
I think a fun running series would be something like: What's that business's actual "business"?. EG: Airlines don't make money by flying ppl around. The profits come from credit cards. What are other industries whose profit center would surprise most people?.

If anything he goes a little overboard pointing up his subjects’ insecurities, meanness, self-regard etc—i love this stuff, but it makes for perhaps overtidy psychohistories.
