Justice Kagan’s dissent: We are a higher court than the district court, but we are not a better one when it comes to making such a fact-based decision. Trump-appointed district judge in 160 page decision: Substantial evidence shows that Texas racially gerrymandered the 2025 map.

“December 1 marked 70th anniversary of Rosa Parks' courageous refusal to give up her seat on a Montgomery bus, an act that helped ignite the modern civil rights movement. Behind the scenes, one lawyer played a pivotal role in turning her arrest into a legal victory: Fred Gray.”

Today, I officially filed for re-election to the Supreme Court! Upholding my oath of office to rule without fear or favor has been my guiding light every day on the Court. I am grateful for the opportunity to ask the people of North Carolina to elect me to a second term.

The Department of Homeland Security told us arrests outside courtrooms are "common sense" and "safer" because people have "gone through security and been screened to not have any weapons." One (now former) judge at this courthouse we spoke to said the hallways are public spaces

A new post by a Republican state Senator in Indiana, saying she will "not cave" on redistricting as she shares that she was just the target of a pipe bomb threat to due "DC political pundits". (Adds to strong statements from Senators Greg Walker & Bohacek earlier this weekend.)

Unfortunately, my house was the target of a pipe bomb threat on Saturday evening. This is a result of the D.C. political pundits for redistricting. Thanks to the Oldenburg Town Marshall, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the ISP, all is okay!

We’ll see what happens at SCOTUS with the Texas redistricting appeal, but one important contextual thing is that Texas is *not* being ordered to use a court-drawn map or a map that it drew only under duress. It is being ordered to use its *own* GOP drawn 2021 map. #txlege
