I just left the ER. We are officially back to getting crushed by COVID-19. Delta Variant is running rampant and it’s MUCH more transmissible than the original virus. 99% of our ICU admits did NOT receive a vaccine. Virtually ALL of them wish they had.

Lockdown is very hard. But it is a picnic with rainbows compared to delta variant ripping through our loved ones, randomly sending 10% to hospitals with full ICUs & burnt out staff. ‘Opening up to live with covid’ is no easy pathway to happiness & prosperity. It is a trap.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but your choice to give up the last eleven or so months of your regular life, being careful and socially distancing, could very well be the reason somebody else is alive today - and it will *always* have been worth it.

I would love it if every government minister shadowed a nurse for a 13 hour shift and then tell us they believe a 1% pay rise is adequate.
