While we’re in this very happening season of Indo-Pak engagements, plugging an old song of mine
“Ab hum Kia karain ge
Sadion tung jung larrain ge, Phir Kia?
Kub tuk yay khel karain ge,
Kin naslon tuk jhelain ge, Phir Kia?
Here’s to better times..
Apart from Ahmedabad, every Indian crowd we’ve played in front of has been gracious and has showered us with affection. Pakistan aao Yaar, zara hammaray logeon ko bhee mauka dou ❤️
Someone at the PCB needs to answer about WHY THE FUCK PSL player retentions and swap discussions are being finalized ON THE EVE OF A FUCKING WORLD CUP FINAL?
Once threw a ball at zulqarnain haider while he was already in the crease. Injured him so badly he was out of the rest of the tour. Made a half assed apology, nothing more. Our guardian of decency
Both Pakistan and Islamabad United are doing Hassan Ali a disservice by continuing to play him. Getting a pounding every night is no way of recovering form, he needs a break from the shortest format. Loyalty is good until it starts to hurt the guy.
The guy survived an era of Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib, Ambrose, Walsh, McGrath, Lee, Gillespie, Bond, Donald and Pollock. With bigger boundaries, smaller bats and reverse swing.
Not to kick Indian fans when they’re hurting but one can’t help but feel joy at how BCCI’s shameless domination of the game, scheduling IPL at same venue as wt20 a month before the event, giving them what they thought was most favorable path to the title, it’s all come to shit
Mohommad wasim’s selections and thought process is one of the reasons why we are still in this wt20.If he hadn’t taken a firm stance,we would’ve probably been playing malik instead of iftikhar, hafeez in place of shan and one of amir or wahab in place of Wasim Jr. Coz seniority.
Amir is hilarious “when Pakistan were losing all (Chairman and Selector) of them were hiding now if the team wins don’t come out to take credit just stay hidden” 😂😂
Shan kee evolution is almost unheard of in Pakistan cricket. A guy who started from test cricket, was labelled as parchi, had mixed results, went back to the drawing board, used data analytics, learned modern batting skills and completely reinvented himself into a t20 player.
EAST OR WEST
THESE ARE THE BEST
Best ever selection committee.
I believe they will bring the best players into national squads.
Wish both of you good luck dear

The Misbah press ups,one of the most iconic Pak cricket moments of the last decade. So symbolic too, Lord's was the venue where Pakistan cricket had its darkest hour.This moment almost felt like Pakistan cricket was announcing its new culture to the world, with Misbah at the helm
Tabish Hashmi kee barree game hai yaar.
A well-spoken, thoughtful, genuinely funny guy who stays true to his middle class roots. Progressive guy, brings up tricky issues but doesn't alienate followers by doing so.
In tough times,it's good to see comedians playing their part
Wasim bhai just refused to do a further dissection of India’s performance on the show today …just said “today is Pakistan Afghanistan so if you want to discuss india , over to you Sanjay “
Wasim bhai taking no prisoners on this commentary gig is he?
This is the sort of insecurity in senior batters that Pakistani captains have to deal with. It’s why hafeez never batted at number 6, the number that best suited him. The fear that just coz someone bats above you, he becomes the more important player.
Promotion of
@76Shadabkhan
at no 4 &
@mnawaz94
at no 5 can give short term success but wil put more pressure & doubts in the minds of middle order batters. Why they r there for??? If no confidence on them then why they r with the team?? Middle order wil remain an issue…

Was brushing my teeth today and saw my son in the mirror studying me closely and then trying to copy me. It is crazy that there is a little human out there who is learning about life by watching me. That is an insane responsibility for someone as lazy and irresponsible as me
It is absurd that even after following Pakistan cricket for three decades and knowing fully well what we are capable and not capable off, full jeet kee umeed laga kay baithoon ga main aaj. Yay saala Dil jo hai na, baaz Naheen aata apnay kaamon say
What a welcome change from racism to bullying. 3-4 countries constantly playing each other, taking lion’s share of revenue rather than more equitable distribution that would ensure expansion of game, isolating 2nd biggest cricket market. Cricket pundits who are mute BCCI stooges
When I first started going to England, this was the mindset I had to deal with. Superior. Condescending. Looking down at us. In the welcome change that has come about, the next generation is more aware, less snobbish and just easier to be with. It has allowed them to stay…
I thought I was khwaar. Until I met a group of 25 people from Houston who first travelled to Australia for Pakistan’s first two games, came back to the US when Pakistan lost. Then when Pakistan qualified for final, they went back and lost again. 😲
A lot of this Asia cup has been us travelling from city to city,with our players picking up stiffness & injuries, playing in rain interrupted shit games and then having zero luck go our way with the ball. One of the worst tournaments ever, don’t need to read anything into it
It is fucked up having to go through the same experience twice 11 years apart. But there was something different this time. For the first time I cheered on a team that I adore completely and unequivocally. And that is a feeling that will long endure through the gloom of defeat.
The fun part about this tour has been the Aussies genuinely appreciating Pak cricketers. I feel the last few years have been great for the dynamic between these two cricketing nations. Real opportunity here to build a proper relationship with regular tours & fan engagement
The bowling action, the hair, the pace, the wicked swing, the celebration. There’s something just a little sexier about a Pakistani fast bowler. it is every reason why I fell in love with cricket decades ago. It still is the only thing that matters…..
He who must not be named is batting with the other guy who I will not be naming and they are batting in a manner I will not be describing. But mashallah
#JinxFreeTweeting
You can be angry at Pakistan cricket for a lot of things but we have always been there for other countries in their time of need.
The level of selfishness shown by the ECB after using us to fill their international slots last year and ditching us in our time of need,it’s unreal
I’ve watched this team for 3 decades. I wanna think I’ve seen most things
But pulling off a win like that, with rain around, after a thrashing in the field. To to be able to stay ahead of DLS, to be able to leave opposition helpless like that
Never ever seen anything like this
I know that Harris Rauf has no real first class experience or miles in his legs. We'll probably break him if we play him in tests with no real experience of bowling long spells. But man oh man, how much fun would it be to watch him in tests!
Dear
@captainmisbahpk
, 7 of the 11 who beat England today were in that NZ “D team” . Plz explain why you choose to belittle the Pak team’s achievements, especially as you are the HEAD OF THE TECHNICAL COMMITTEE. What is with this bitter, unprofessional behavior?
cc
@falamb3
impossibly in love with Pakistan cricket, and days like this are why. It’s why we sit through the many painful, miserable days. Because we know that this version of Pakistan is always lurking close by. And when it comes together, it is magic that no other team can give its fans
In the 90s there were 4 genuine icons of the game. Wasim, Lara, Sachin & Warne. Not just coz of their achievements but the sheer flair with which they played. These were the kind of players who would fill stadiums, who would be the reason why cricket series were hyped
#RIPWarne
It’s crazy how the narratives of Pakistan cricket change in a space of weeks. A few months ago we were a top heavy team with a weak middle order. We were also ultimately a bowling team with the best pace trio in the world. suddenly after one tournament we were a team in tatters >
Just feels so alien having a settled top order in ODI cricket. Hazam naheen hota aaj tuk. Aik umer guzree hai 50/3 daikhtay hoay, wo trauma kaisay bhoolay ga?
Why the fuck is this lineup being shared with the whole world one day in advance? Giving the opponents a chance to do research on each player and build plans…just takes away any element of surprise. Absolutely asinine.
This might be the single greatest minute of our lives.That rush of emotions,the hope,the killing of hope, the despair,the hate for Azhar in that moment,the feeling of another inevitable loss.And then,the estacy,relief and love the very next ball.Kabhee Naheen aayay ga Aisa moment
Still cracks me up seeing this generation of mediocres being critics on tv. For those of us unfortunate enough to sit through Kamran Akmal’s keeping, the only way to describe it was he was either plain incompetent or extremely shady. I’ll take tashan bazi over that legacy
We’ve been through much pain, embarssments & heartbkreaks. It broke us as fans. Killed the optimists in us. Rooting for this team often feels like clinging to a fool’s hope. But on days like today, it pays off. And when it does, it is the most special feeling in the world
Babar would still be my pick for captain BUT he needs to be given a good tactical coach who is given the authority to dissuade him from stupid decisions like sending iftikhar over shadab in final.
I believe Babar Azam is still the best option for Pakistan as captain in all formats. I understand accountability for losing a World Cup final. But I'm yet to see a definitively damning critique of his captaincy, once that isn't laden with emotion or hindsight. What am I missing?
Imagine having to deal with this sort of toxicity in the dressing room. Coaches who always assume the worst about you, who keep passing snide comments in the background. This is what Azam Khan was talking about in his interview. This is what Amir used to say about Waqar.
This needs to be Babar’s WC. Don’t think I’ve ever wanted a Pakistani cricketer to prove himself at a World Cup more than I do Babar this time around . Feels like there will always be an asterisk hanging next to his greatness until he performs in this tournament vs big teams
As a Pakistani fan traumatized by decades of collapses….watching players like Abdulla, Rizwan and Saud stay so cool under pressure…it’s an uncomfortably alien feeling. I feel really insecure about it, like it’s a strength that will be snatched from us at any time
Imagine if a Pakistani team coached by hafeez won our first test match in australia in almost three decades. Maybe that will be Pakistan cricket’s ultimate joke on its supporters
What a delightful dressing room it’s going to be with Hafeez sharing wisdom, Naveed Cheema enforcing his version of discipline, Dr Sohail misdiagnosing injured pacers and Umar Gul endorsing conspiracy theories about players.
To think this is our staff for an Australia tour. FML
📢 PCB has announced the Pakistan team management for the Australia tour.
Mohammad Hafeez – Director
Simon Grant Helmot – High performance coach
Adam Hollioake – Batting coach
Shahid Aslam – Assistant batting coach
Umar Gul – Fast bowling coach
Saeed Ajmal – Spin bowling coach…

He picks jersey of Pakistan Cricket Team after four long years. He feels the warmth of Pakistan's shirt. He watches his dream turning into a reality once again. He kisses the star of Pakistan. The green shirt brings back smile on his face again. These expression of Ahmad Shahzad…
There's something so pleasing about watching a player full of confidence and at the peak of his powers. Abdullah Shafique is fast becoming a must-watch batter. There's no end to his classy attacking strokeplay.

The odds are always stacked against anyone trying to do something good and different in Pakistan cricket because this kind of journalism will always follow them around, just waiting to pounce on the first sign of weakness
He is Rehan ul Haq, team manager appointed by Najam Sethi saheb with a big parche and Safarish . He seems more prominent in all of team videos shared by PCB, it shows cameraman gives him more coverage than players. It is sad to see that media manager with Pakistan team is…
Let’s be honest Babar. This has been a crap innings so far. Got 7 runs from 3 free hits FFS. Batters around you have had to take chances coz you’ve shown zero initiative. That’s why Rizwan got out. That’s why iftikhar got out. Meanwhile you’ve just played like it’s the 1990s
This picture is such a thing of beauty.
@shoaib100mph
genuinely looks like a plane taking off. The strides, the kit, the hair, the way the feet are in the air, it’s like an engine gradually picking up speed. It’s so beautiful. Issee liyay tau dil aaya tha Iss boy pur.
Didn’t see him begging umpire to withdraw those runs in the World Cup final when the ball deflected of his bat and gave England 4 extra runs, which won them the World Cup at the end.
I mean did you really want to win a game in that manner? Didn’t even try to reason with umpires
“I think if the shoe was on other foot I’d have had to have a deep think about the spirit of the game.
Would I want to win a game in that manner? For me the answer is no.”
Ben Stokes has had his say on THAT incident.

Pakistan’s under 19 win today yet another reminder that when players are first appearing on the international cricket they are on par if not better than their peers. It is the system that is failing them consistently.
Remember this and treasure this Pakistan. Coz in about two games, we’ll probably have some ex cricketer or new coach whispering in Harris’s ear that his batting is a fluke.
Let this be the last time Imam plays a white ball game for Pakistan. An unfit, self satisfied and stubborn cricketer who plays for himself every minute of every day. Piss off with your 50 average built on the back of power play go slows that serve only your selfish goals
Of the things that have set Pakistan cricket back over the last few years, the premature departure of Steve Rixon has probably had the greatest immediate impact on our game. Multiple catches dropped in every game, carrying liabilities in the outfield, weak arms, lack of interest
Don’t know what’s worst….having a shit test match team, having a clueless captain, having a ridiculously inept coaching staff, having a buffoon as chief selector or having a PR hungry journalist as chairman. This might be the worst I’ve ever felt about Pakistani cricket
So disappointed at
@WahabViki
. He was doing such an excellent job at the Pavilion and was witty, intelligent and passionate. In this show he’s behaving more like typical Pakistani ex cricketers usually do after they’ve been ignored.
Pakistan team director Mohammad Hafeez missed his flight, from Melbourne to Sydney for the final Test against Australia, after reaching the airport late with his wife.
Mohammad Hafeez had recently introduced fines for players for breaking the code of conduct.
The sad part is we actually have the batsmen who can deal with a bit of movement in the pitch . England batsmen have struggled in recent years whenever there’s something in the pitch. Knowing this, why, why, WHY WOULD YOU MAKE A PITCH LIKE THIS?
I’ve seen Inzi, Yousuf, Anwar, Younis at their peaks and the tail end of Miandad and Salim Malik’s careers. Might not have the brutal aggression of an anwar or an Inzi but Babar’s combination of calmness, versatility, class and consistency is a notch above all of them
Yaad hai Kitnee barree barree baatain kartay thay chairman sahab pitches kay baaray main? That’s what his entire tenure has been about, empty words, clumsy projects and a talented cricket team that keeps giving him a new lease of life when he’s about to be shown the door
My only interaction with
@YUVSTRONG12
remains my favorite memory of him.Right after India had lost wt20 game vs SL and Pak had qualified for semis we met Yuvraj in a bar in St Lucia. On hearing that we were from Pakistan he said, “Inshallah aap kee team zaroor jeetay gee”
#Champ
Jeet rahay hain hum ab yay tournament, will be our fourth crazy comeback performance in world tournaments.
Forget 92, champions trophy , 2009 wt20, this one’s gonna be even crazier.
Buckle up, gonna be a bumpy fuckin ride!
Gotta admire how brilliantly India are managing Bumrah. They're playing a top team in SA, with a wt20 in 6 months. But they're intentionally not playing Bumrah, they see no sense in risking him in bilaterals, unless it's closer to the wt20.
You really think you can hurt me? I was there in St Lucia. Hussey hit the final 6 into my stand. I took a 18 hour flight to Dubai to watch Pakistan lose in wt20 semi final. I flew 22 hours to Melbourne to watch Pakistan lose wt20 final literally a few hours after I had landed
Kamaal cricket system hai waisay hammara. Rizwan gets benched in the format where he should be first choice, Rizwan instead keeps being selected for t20s where his strike rate is a liability. Pakistan cricket has never been more absurd, more out of touch with reality
Seems impossible to imagine that Hales sat out of England’s team for years because he smoked a joint. Hammara launda tau chars pocket main lay kay ghoomta tha Dubai kay airport main, hum Phir bhee waapis lay aayay thay team main
Still remember my mom being in a heart stent procedure last year and the only thing keeping me sane was watching Babar Azam highlights on my phone. Bohot pyar hai iss bachay say.
Feel so terrible for naseem shah. His medical care was managed by the worst doctor, Dr Sohail and now his social media life is apparently being handled by the biggest clowns who are putting his private moments of grief out there for the world to see.
This PSL might not have had the grand contests of prior versions, but the new batting talent on display is FAR FAR better than the previous tournaments. Harris, Saim Ayub, Haseebullah, Baig and Qasim Akram to name a few, dil khush ho gaya hai yaar.
Basically every Pakistani player is expected to be miserable at all times. Any slight show of joy, humanity, weakness, strength is not to be tolerated by the media. Bus perform karo aur robots kee tarah behave Karo.
Yehi chahtaay hain hum sab. Aik talented player hain Dahani per unko samajhna hai kay social media per popular honay sai aap aagay nahi jatay, apni field main improve karna zaroori hai. Last match main bhee 44 runs diyey thaay. Ye unkay bhalay ki baat hai.
