When making decisions based on data, two types of errors can occur. A Type I error happens when we detect an effect even though none exists. This is also called a false positive. A Type II error happens when we fail to detect a real effect. This is also called a false negative.

A happy 91st birthday to Julian Glover. What a magnificent career on stage, screen & television across seventy years. From the RSC to 007, Quatermass and the Pit to Indiana Jones. As a child, I always felt that his villainous roles on TV always came with depth and edge. Magnetic.

I worked as a volunteer medic on an ambulance. We give our time to save lives. We don’t care what religion you are when it’s time to save you—we just want to help. Hatzalah volunteers are the same. Their ambulances are funded by the Jewish community, and they are staffed by

William Shatner is 95 today! How could I not post something from Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan (1982)? The Enterprise crew came roaring back and delivered one of the all-time great sequels, basically a submarine thriller in space. Shatner is brilliant here.

Exact same issue for me- I know my previous books and articles have been used to train AI (looking at you anthropic)- & when I run previous articles (written pre-AI) into AI checkers, they can come back as high as 90% AI. It's not artificial intelligence- it's collective human
I ran some of my writing through an AI checker. 29.7% robot-generated! Thing is, it obviously wasn't. Ethical and creative reasons aside, the book in question is nearly a decade old - well before technology could do this. 1/3

It is ten years since the role of the nursing associate was piloted in England’s healthcare workforce. The role was intended to sit between that of a healthcare support worker and registered nurse. We look at the experience of NAs in the workforce now. https://t.co/jCvmvNqeMm

On #bbcqt, James Orr claimed: "We have never, and Nigel Farage has never said that the #NHS could be anything other but free at the point of delivery." This statement is not accurate: it's misleading in its absolute form. While Farage and Reform UK have consistently pledged
This week on #bbcqt, arguably the most dangerous man in Britain that few voters have even heard of: Reform UK's anti-abortion #NatCon Head of Policy and Peter Thiel associate, James Orr, who is facilitating the transfer of control of Britain to #MAGA extremists. FFS WAKE UP!
