Maybe top 3 scorsese shots is the one of Kennedy Senior's death vignettes. Silent in a way he rarely lets himself be, so very still. I'm losing interest in him, but shots like that remind me he still has that spark.

@mformorphine I get it & appreciate what you do, I'm just surprised. Not an expert on the UK specifically but the ML position in general is one vanguard party based on democratic centralism, like CPGB-ML. RS21 is a trotskyist org, as far as I can tell

Covers up the messy and complicated reality of death for the easy option, which had shifted, at least for the big screen, into dirty cops. All the bound up lies and suffering are simplified and marched forward.

Just finished reading L.A. Confidential. Don't think I'll ever be able to watch the film version in the same way. It does the same thing the book seems to critique.
