History made today as we became the first unit to receive new Colours from His Majesty the King.
This is also the first time in RMAS history that both Colours and a Sovereign’s Banner have been presented at the same time on a Sovereign’s Parade.

A new addition to the Academy unveiled yesterday by the Earl of Wessex - a statue of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, on Burmese (1984).
The Staff and OCdts will march past Her Majesty on every Sovereign’s Parade.

The late LSgt Davey Walker, John Adams and I pictured in Sayedabad, Afghanistan 2010.
A few days after this picture Davey would run through a hail of fire to give aid to Lt Murly-Gotto. He would receive the Queen’s Commendation for Bravery.
He was sadly KIA a week later.

A new tradition in the Sergeants’ Mess is to give newly promoted Warrant Officers a set of silver cufflinks. The cufflinks will have the year of their Warrant engraved on the reverse.
All current Warrant Officers will recieve a set and the tradition will continue.

3 tours at the Academy, he leaves the Army after being the first Parachute Regiment RSM since JC Lord.
A wealth of knowledge and a massive help to me on my first term.

After a moments thought I decided not to patrol that particular road. Something never felt right about the area or the ANP that day.
Worked out well as two IED’s were waiting for us if we had followed the Afghan Police that day.

Pacesticking is a very popular subject it seems. It is difficult but also a fun day for those not used to competing in the competition.
This and the last video are of practice runs from a few years ago. All the practice leads to the ‘Worlds’ in mid June.
