When pre-specified primary outcomes of a study don't fit a preconceived narrative, some want the study withdrawn, engage in intellectual gymnastics with post hoc analyses to shift goalposts, & torture the data into confessing the results they want. That's not science.

@SignosHealth I also noticed that the @US_FDA letter cites regulation 21 CFR 807.97 stating that the letter "does not in any way denote official approval of the device. Any representation that creates an impression of official approval of a device because of complying with the premarket.

You would not know this from the @SignosHealth press release touting the "First Ever FDA-Cleared Glucose Monitoring Breakthrough for Weight Management".

Media coverage of @SignosHealth press release suggests @US_FDA approval of a CGM system for weight loss. But the @FDADeviceInfo determination has no weight loss indication & says their CGM system is merely "substantially equivalent" to others already on the market.

Similar to my experience at NIH, this story documents how government scientists studying topics aligning with stated MAHA priorities have been thwarted.
