As of today the Province has lifted the requirement for masks in most indoor settings. But we still encourage you to keep wearing masks, especially indoors when physical distancing may not be possible. COVID levels remain high & masks are an effective layer of protection. (1/3)

Ontario's ability to rapidly scale up #COVID19 vaccination is impressive. Dec 10: 78K administered, 7-day average 67K Dec 23: 253K administered, 7 day average 180K. Wow. This is a massive team effort. Per-capita, this is up there with the fastest pace on the planet.

Because public health units are often a government agency, how can public health professionals balance working within vs working outside of the system? How can we build coalitions and advocate properly for the communities we serve?
Writing this piece made me think that public health and journalism are actually very similar--fields whose foundational missions should push them to oppose power, and whose structural problems can make them subservient to it.

Cycling isn’t inherently a “macho high-speed hobby”. Decades of car-centric street design made it that way. In cities that have reversed this trend, cycling is a means of emancipation and participation in society, for demographic groups long excluded from most mobility networks.
